The Party: The Foreign Ministry’s decision is a big sin
Fady Mahouly
Hezbollah condemned the decision issued by the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is devoid of any legal justification, to withdraw approval of the accreditation of the Iranian ambassador-designate to Lebanon, Mohammad Reza Shibani, and to declare him “persona non grata” and to demand that he leave Lebanese territory, in a reckless and reprehensible step that does not serve Lebanon’s highest national interests, sovereignty, or national unity, but rather constitutes a coup against it, a clear submission to external pressures and dictates, and a blatant infringement on the powers of the President of the Republic. The flimsy pretexts on which this arbitrary decision to accuse the ambassador of interfering in Lebanon's internal affairs was based are nothing but further confirmation that it is a malicious political decision par excellence, lacking the minimum level of wisdom and national responsibility.
The party said, “This suspicious measure, which comes at an extremely dangerous time, to confront it, Lebanon needs the solidarity of all its people, with their various political, partisan, cultural and social components, and a unified official position to strengthen the elements of resilience with the aim of imposing a cessation of aggression against the Israeli enemy and forcing it to withdraw from the lands it occupies, as the Foreign Minister chooses to line up in a position that only serves the Zionist enemy with his words and actions, and acts with or without knowledge and out of a narrow and spiteful partisan mentality towards Weakening the Lebanese state and stripping it of the elements of cohesion it needs at this delicate and sensitive stage, and pushing towards making more concessions in the service of the enemy with the aim of paving the way for placing Lebanon entirely under American-Israeli guardianship.”
He added: “What makes this decision even more dangerous and crude is that it comes from the minister himself, who has a profession of complete silence towards the blatant American interventions in Lebanon and towards the statements of its officials and envoys that insulted Lebanon and incited it and an essential component of it. But in return, he flexes his muscles in front of the friendly country that has never skimped on Lebanon with support and assistance, and that stood by its people in the darkest circumstances, and contributed to strengthening its ability to protect its land and its people, without ever interfering in... Its internal affairs or affect its sovereignty, but rather maintained good and strong relations with Lebanon.”
The "party" considered this decision a national sin and a major strategy that does not serve national unity, but rather opens the doors of internal division, deepens the national rift, and enters the country into an extremely dangerous path of dependency, weakness, and exposure. Hezbollah calls on the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister to demand that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, who has lost national capacity as a result of putting partisan interests ahead of Lebanon’s interests, security, and stability, to immediately retract this decision due to its serious repercussions. The Minister and his party must act wisely and deliberately, be aware of the dangers surrounding Lebanon, and realize that protecting Lebanon’s sovereignty cannot be by submitting to external dictates, nor by antagonizing a basic component of the nation, or by antagonizing the countries that supported Lebanon and stood by it. Through national solidarity, and confronting the only real enemy of this country, which is the Zionist enemy.
